The Director of the CIED-IUST Foundation, Prof. Parvez A. Mir, inaugurated the Diploma in STEM Program for young innovators and entrepreneurs. This program is designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical entrepreneurship, equipping students with the skills needed to transform their ideas into successful business ventures.

Prof. Parvez A. Mir emphasized the importance of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among youth. He highlighted the critical role of STEM education in shaping the future workforce and addressing the technological challenges of the modern world. By integrating skill development with entrepreneurial training, the program aims to prepare students to become leaders in innovation and enterprise.

Dr. Basharat Nabi Dar, the Course Coordinator of the STEM (Skill to Enterprise Model) Program, underscored the unique approach of the program in empowering entrepreneurs. He explained that the Skill to Enterprise Model is specifically designed to merge the technical expertise gained through STEM disciplines with essential entrepreneurial skills. While STEM education lays a strong foundation in the sciences, complementary skills such as problem-solving, financial management, market analysis, and business strategy are vital for transforming innovative ideas into profitable enterprises.

In his address, Dr. Basharat Nabi Dar highlighted the program’s comprehensive curriculum, which integrates innovation, practical experience, and entrepreneurial training. He emphasized its role in developing the next generation of entrepreneurs equipped with both technical proficiency and business acumen.
