3 Days EDP for School of Health Sciences, IUST

The three-day Entrepreneurship Development Program, held from December 17 to 19, 2024, at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), was organized by the CIED-IUST Foundation for the students of the School of Health Sciences. The program aimed to equip participants with the essential knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to succeed in the evolving healthcare industry. It focused on key aspects of entrepreneurship in the health sector, including market trends, innovative solutions, and navigating industry complexities.
The inaugural session featured distinguished speakers, including Prof. Parvez A. Mir, CEO of CIED-IUST Foundation, Prof. Mohd Ayoub Qadri, Dean of the School of Health Sciences, and Dr. Basharat Nabi, Coordinator of STEM. Prof. Mir emphasized the growing significance of entrepreneurship in healthcare, highlighting its potential to address challenges and drive innovation. Dr. Touseef Ahmed Bhat and Mr. Mohd Shahid Khan, both industrial consultants, delivered sessions on various business models in health sciences and discussed challenges such as rising healthcare costs, an aging population, and accessibility issues.
Over the course of the program, experienced trainers specializing in health-sector entrepreneurship led insightful discussions, providing participants with practical skills to navigate the healthcare landscape. The program concluded with a valedictory session, chaired by Prof. Parvez A. Mir, where attendees expressed their gratitude for the enriching sessions. Participation certificates were distributed, recognizing the participants’ efforts and the valuable skills they had acquired.
This program successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of healthcare entrepreneurship and its crucial role in transforming the industry.
