The "Two-Day Business Fest" organized by the CIED-IUST Foundation was inaugurated by the Chief Education Minister, Ms. Sakina Itoo, and the Vice Chancellor of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo. The event marked a significant step toward transforming the university into a prominent hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. The festival focused on fostering an environment where students and entrepreneurs could collaborate, learn, and grow.

In his address, Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo emphasized the university’s commitment to becoming a skill-based institution, reinforcing its role in shaping future leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs. He highlighted the strategic vision of making IUST a center of excellence in both academic learning and practical skill development.

Prof. Abdul Wahid, the Registrar, encouraged students to elevate their ventures and ambitions, urging them to transition from job seekers to job creators. He stressed the critical role of entrepreneurship in empowering students to become employers, contributing significantly to economic growth and self-reliance.

Prof. Parvez A. Mir, the Dean of the School of Business Studies, Head of the Department (HOD), and Director of the CIED-IUST Foundation, spoke about the university’s exceptional entrepreneurial ecosystem, which is widely regarded as one of the best in the region. He noted that IUST has consistently received national recognition for its efforts in fostering a dynamic environment for entrepreneurship and innovation.

The festival served as a vibrant platform to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and skill-building among students—key factors for their success in an ever-evolving global economy. Through initiatives like this, the university aims to create an ecosystem that empowers students to excel academically while developing essential skills to thrive in the business world.
