EAP at Industrial Estate Lassipora Pulwama

An industrial visit was organized for the students of the Diploma in STEM (Skill to Enterprise Model) program to the Industrial Estate SIDCO in Lassipora, Pulwama. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to industrial operations and insights into entrepreneurship, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.
The visit was arranged by Prof. Parvez A. Mir, Director of CIED-IUST Foundation, specifically for entrepreneurs in the STEM Program. The goal was to give students a firsthand experience of business operations.
At Panchal Agro Fresh in Lassipora, Pulwama, students had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Shaban Ahmad, the CEO and Managing Director. Mr. Ahmad shared his entrepreneurial journey, discussing the challenges and successes he faced. He emphasized the importance of perseverance, innovation, and continuous learning in entrepreneurship. This interaction was particularly inspiring, offering students a tangible example of how theoretical knowledge can be translated into a successful business.
The visit provided students with an in-depth look at the practical aspects of industrial operations. They toured the facilities, gaining valuable insights into infrastructure, machinery, and labor dynamics. Observing the cold storage units and agro-processing operations helped them understand the complexities and requirements of running such businesses.
The students also visited SuperFresh Agri-Products Pvt. Ltd. in Lassipora, where they gained an overview of the apple grading process, learned about the importance of efficiency in agricultural operations, and explored the setup of the grading line.
Overall, the industrial visit to SIDCO Lassipora was a significant experience for the Diploma in STEM program students.
