Industrial Visit to SIDCO Lassipora Pulwama

An industrial visit was organized for the students of the Diploma in STEM (Skill to Enterprise Model) program to the Industrial Estate SIDCO Lassipora, Pulwama. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to industrial operations and valuable insights into entrepreneurship. This hands-on experience was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.

The visit was organized under the direction of the Director of the CIED-IUST Foundation, Prof. Parvez A. Mir, specifically for entrepreneurs enrolled in the STEM program, to offer them a firsthand understanding of business operations.

At Panchal Agro Fresh, Lassipora Pulwama, the students had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Shaban Ahmad, the CEO and Managing Director. Mr. Ahmad shared his entrepreneurial journey, highlighting the challenges and successes he encountered. He emphasized the importance of perseverance, innovation, and continuous learning in the field of entrepreneurship. This interaction provided students with an inspiring real-world example of how theoretical knowledge can be applied to establish and sustain a successful business.

The visit gave students an in-depth look at the practical aspects of industrial operations. They toured the facilities and gained insights into the infrastructure, machinery, and labor dynamics. Observing the functioning of cold storage units and agro-processing operations helped them better understand the complexities and requirements of managing such businesses.

The students also visited SuperFresh Agri-Products Pvt. Ltd., where they were introduced to the apple grading process. They learned about the importance of efficiency in agricultural operations and explored the setup of the grading line, gaining a comprehensive overview of this essential process.
