2 Days Calligraphy Workshop by SCDC

The Director of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED), Prof. Parvez A. Mir, inaugurated a two-day workshop on calligraphy for students. In his opening address, Prof. Mir introduced participants to the fundamentals of calligraphy, highlighting its significance as an art form.
Dr. Darakshan Majid, Coordinator of SCDC, addressed the participants, stating that the workshop aims to foster creativity and promote an appreciation for the art of calligraphy.
Ms. Mir Minha Qadir, a professional calligrapher, conducted a brief session during which she introduced participants to various calligraphy styles, including traditional and modern brush techniques. She provided hands-on practice sessions and shared insights into the importance of calligraphy in different cultures, as well as techniques for creating elegant lettering.
Ms. Qadir also guided participants through the practical aspects of calligraphy, including techniques for altering the background of calligraphy boards. The workshop utilized tools such as calligraphy pens, nibs, ink, specialty paper, and practice sheets, giving participants a comprehensive experience.
The workshop aims to equip young students with practical skills and a deep understanding of calligraphy as an art form. It was facilitated by an experienced trainer who specializes in calligraphy and brings a wealth of knowledge to share.
Through interactive learning activities and personalized guidance, participants gained practical skills in calligraphy that are directly applicable to their entrepreneurial and creative endeavors.
